Buoyed by seeing his former breeze-up graduate Cachet (Ire) (Aclaim {Ire}) storm to 1000 Guineas glory on Sunday, John Bourke will be hoping his profitable spell continues at the Osarus Breeze-Up Sale. The breeder and consignor offers 10 juveniles under the banner of his Westmeath-based Hyde Park Stud during the sale at La Teste de Buch.
Featuring among the group are the only representations of U S Navy Flag (lot 39) and Tasleet (GB) (35) while their fellow first-season sires Kessaar (Ire) (62), Recoletos (Fr) (11) and Cloth Of Stars (Ire) (18) also form part of his draft.
U S Navy Flag has made a blistering start to his career at stud with three of his four horses to have hit the track winning first time up, of which the Wesley Ward-trained Love Reigns (Ire) created a big impression when winning a Keeneland maiden by just under 10 lengths.
Tasleet has also made a bright start to his stud career with his two runners, Texas Hold 'Em (Ire) and Carmela (Ire), winning convincingly on their respective debuts.
Bourke's U S Navy Flag colt is out of the Pretty Polly S. winner Take The Hint (GB) Montjeu ({Ire}), while the Tasleet filly is out of Spirit Of Sound (Fr) (Invincible Spirit ({Ire}).
The Juddmonte-owned Breeders' Cup Mile winner Expert Eye (GB), who got off the mark in his first season to have runners when Sunny Orange won a Leicester maiden for Ralph Beckett in the same colours of his sire, is also represented by a filly (37) out of Sugar Mill (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}).
Along with Recoletos, French-based first-season sires Chemical Charge (Ire), Mekhtaal (GB), Seabhac and Seahenge are represented at the sale.
With the breeze having taken place on Monday, a total of 61 lots will go under the hammer from 1pm on Tuesday.
